On Day of Eviction Moratorium Deadline,Home to Stay Coalition Pushes for Yes on Question #3 to Help Move City Towards Stable Housing for All Minneapolis Families

MINNEAPOLIS – As statewide eviction moratorium ends, lifting all eviction and lease termination protections (with the exception for those who qualify for statewide rental assistance), the Home to Stay coalition continued their effort to engage thousands of Minneapolis residents to vote "yes" on Question 3 on the Minneapolis ballot. The initiative would start the process of bringing rent stabilization to Minneapolis to help ensure every family, no matter their zip code, wealth or race, have a safe, stable place to call home.

Arianna Anderson, renter in North Minneapolis and member of the Home To Stay Coalition said: “I am a mother of five, and I feel blessed to have lived in my home for a little over five years now. I have been homeless before so I know that housing is a blessing. But my rent has been steadily going up over the years. It’s a struggle to keep making rent. I think everybody deserves safe, affordable housing. Especially with the COVID-19 crisis and the ending of the eviction moratorium, we need to regulate rents to make sure everyone has a home to stay.”
