Home to Stay Coalition Welcomes Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Endorsement of Minneapolis Charter Question #3 to Move Rent Stabilization Forward in City

MINNEAPOLIS – Following news that Rep. Ilhan Omar endorsed voting yes on question 3, the charter amendment that would allow a path for rent stabilization in Minneapolis, Claire Bergren, campaign manager with the Home To Stay MPLS coalition, released the following statement:

“We are so excited that Rep. Omar is joining the growing wave of Minneapolis residents who are voting YES on question 3 to continue our work to ensure that every person – no matter our race, income  or zip-code – has a safe, stable place to live. Despite a small, vocal minority who are working to defend the status quo, we’ve seen both in polls and in talking to voters that Minneapolis residents want a say in addressing the housing crisis and making our city a more welcoming and accessible place for all.
